Variety: 100% Malbec
Region: Uco Valley (Altamira – San Carlos, Gualtallary – Tupungato, Zapata – Tupungato, La Consulta – San Carlos) and Alto Agrelo – Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza
Altitude: Over 1,000 m.a.s.l.
Soil:

  • Altamira (San Carlos): Soils with varying composition of sand, silt, stones, and calcium carbonate.
  • Gualtallary (Tupungato): Poor, alluvial, stony soils with a significant presence of calcium carbonate and sand.
  • Zapata (Tupungato): Predominantly rocky and clayey soils.
  • La Consulta (San Carlos): Located at the end of an alluvial cone; heterogeneous soils, mostly sandy with rounded surface stones.
  • Alto Agrelo (Luján de Cuyo): Also situated at the end of an alluvial cone, with heterogeneous sandy soils and rounded surface stones.

Climate:
All areas share a similar alluvial regime, with approximately 250 mm of annual rainfall. Wide thermal amplitude of about 20°C enhances grape ripening and aromatic expression.

Winemaking

The grapes from each vineyard were vinified separately in stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out with 2–3 daily pump-overs, followed by 2 daily pump-overs after fermentation to extract polyphenolic and aromatic compounds. Two delestages were performed during the process, along with a post-fermentative maceration. Malolactic fermentation was completed in tanks before blending the different components. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
