Variety: 100% Malbec
Region: Calingasta Valley, San Juan, Argentina
Altitude: 5,000 ft
Soil: Alluvial soils of river origin. 50% of the grapes come from deep soils, while the other 50% are grown on stony soils.
Climate: Predominantly desert climate with very low rainfall. Marked thermal amplitude, with significant temperature differences between day and night as well as between summer and winter. High solar radiation enhances grape ripening.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-harvested from a single vineyard with two contrasting soil profiles (deep and stony). Both lots were vinified separately at low temperatures with selected yeasts, creating two distinct expressions: one highlighting fresh and vibrant fruit, and the other marked by mineral nuances. After fermentation and a short post-fermentative maceration, malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, first and second use, with light toasting.
