Our vineyards are located in Alto Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo. The vineyard expands over 72 hectares of old vines at 1,050 metres above sea level. We aim to produce balanced, complex and exceptional artisanal wines which are representative of the Mendoza terroir.
This Malbec is produced from organic grapes harvested from Vichigasta, Chilecito and La Rioja. The vineyards have deep, sandy clay of alluvial origin.
The climate was dry (rainfall 20-60% lower than usual), producing small berries and slightly lower yields. Temperatures were colder overall. The 2019 harvest was carried out approximately 1 to 3 weeks earlier than usual with grapes in perfect condition and without botrytis or mildew.
The grapes are harvested in March. After destemming, cold maceration to preserve primary aromas. Alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts for 10 days at a controlled temperature (24-26 degrees). Post fermentation maceration 10-15 days followed by malolactic fermentation.
